Getting started
From the title screen to your first bandit camp.
Make a new world
Choose Singleplayer → Create New World. The world type Sea Craft: East Blue is already selected (vanilla types are still there if you want them).
You wake on Foosha Village's square on Dawn Island, the spawn of every new character.
Your identity
The first time you join, the identity screen opens. Four things about you were already rolled by the server and three are yours to pick:
- Rolled: your race, clan, Haki aptitude and trait.
- Picked: your faction (Pirate, Marine, Revolutionary or Bounty Hunter, each with a starter kit), your ambition, and later an epithet you have earned.
You start with five Blank Posters. Each rolled slot has one free reroll you may take or leave; after that a reroll costs one poster. Press Set Sail to begin and receive your faction's kit. Reopen it any time from the menu wheel (M).
Controls
All keys can be changed in Options → Controls → Key Binds, under Sea Craft.

Menus and chat
The menu wheel is a ship's wheel with the Logbook's eight pages in its wells: Profile, Identity, Gear, Skills, Haki, Crew, Quests and Codex. Click one, or press 1 to 8; press M again or Esc to close it. Inside the Logbook, Q and E flip between its pages.
The emote wheel works the same way while you hold N: point at an emote and let go. Its second page holds the crew's voice lines; turn pages with A and D or the scroll wheel.
Unbound by default: Show or hide chat, and the Lunarian's Light or douse flame.

Levels and stats
You earn EXP from enemies and quests, up to level 100. Every level gives three stat points. Points are permanent once given.
| Stat | One point gives |
|---|---|
| HP Health | +1% maximum health |
| STR Strength | +1% blunt damage (fists, clubs, maces, hammers) and +0.5 maximum stamina |
| DEX Dexterity | +1% slash and pierce damage (swords, blades, axes, spears) |
| INT Intelligence | +1% bow damage |
| SPEC Special | More Devil Fruit damage. Opens when you first eat a fruit and stays if you lose it |
Abilities are unlocked separately, by Mastery with each weapon family.
Your first hour
- Follow Morning in Foosha: Makino at Party's Bar knows everyone and feeds anyone.
- Talk to the village head for Road Trouble; bandits are working the mountain road.
- Learn your weapon. Every kill with a weapon family raises its Mastery; Mastery 1, 5, 10 and 15 open its four abilities.
- Want to kick? The Ship's Cook teaches Black Leg after A Cook's Hands.
- Climb Mt. Colubo to the bandit camps, and be ready: many players first awaken Haki in a desperate fight against Higuma.
